Ingredients

2 eggs

3 Tbsp. Van Guilder’s Hot Chocolate mix

½ tsp. vanilla extract

½ tsp. ground cinnamon

¼ cup butter

8 slices of brioche bread (best if left out overnight)

Instructions

  1. Beat together eggs and hot chocolate mix in a bowl.

  2. Add vanilla extract and cinnamon to the mixture. Continue beating until combined.

  3. Pour mixture into a shallow bowl.

  4. Heat a griddle or skillet to medium heat and melt the butter in the pan.

  5. Dip a slice of bread in the egg mixture. Be sure to flip the bread so both sides are coated but not soggy.

  6. Place the coated bread in the skillet. Cook until crispy and light brown, then flip. Toast the second side until crispy. Then remove and set it on a serving plate.

  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all slices are cooked.

  8. We suggest serving while still warm with syrup, whipped cream, powdered sugar or sliced strawberries…or all of the above!
